Grassy Narrows Road to Seattle 2007

Judy Da Silva and Roberta Keesick share front-line stories from Trans-Canada Highway blockade and the struggle to stop clear-cut logging on their traditional territory

WHAT: Two Indigenous leaders of the Grassy Narrows logging blockade will speak about their fight to protect their culture, forests, and the right of Indigenous peoples to self-determination on their traditional territory.

WHY: At Grassy Narrows, peaceful mothers, grandmothers and children have maintained the longest running Indigenous logging blockade in Canadian history. Rainforest Action Network is now offering a rare chance to hear directly from some of these quietly powerful, inspiring women whose bold actions are blazing a path for all people who believe in a just and sustainable future.
